The Playful Planets series is a collection of space books for kids that introduces
young readers to the planets of our solar system through mythology, storytelling,
and colourful superhero characters. Each planet's personality reflects its role in ancient myth and legend,
while original artwork brings the cosmic cast to life in true superhero style.

Veronica Venus, the goddess of love and beauty;
Jovial Jove is Jupiter, the god of justice;
Mickey Mercury, the winged messenger;
Uri Uranus, the magician;

and Saturn is Old Father Time (Kronos).

Maggie Mother Earth.
The Planets in Our Everyday Lives
Many of the words we use every day are connected to the planets of the solar system.
In many older languages, especially those of Latin origin, the days of the week are named after the planets.
In Spanish, for example:
Monday – Lunes (the Moon)
Tuesday – Martes (Mars)
Wednesday – Miércoles (Mercury)
Thursday – Jueves (Jupiter)
Friday – Viernes (Venus)
In English, Saturday is short for Saturn Day, and Sunday is the day of the Sun.
The month of March is also named after Mars.
